Biography
As far back as grade seven, I have always been heavily involved in sports. I was involved in Football, Cross Country, Wrestling, Boxing and Track and Field. Once in high school, I continued to dominate in foot ball. I played both ways, as a running back on offense and line backer on defense. I also played Rugby in High School were my team remained undefeated for three years while I was playing.
Upon completion of High school, I attended St. Mary’s University were I played football and obtained my Bachelors of Sociology and Criminology.
I am very competitive. I strive to improve myself. In my world there is no such thing as “can’ t”, there is only “Why haven’t I?”
All these various sport endeavors had built a solid muscular foundation. At the age of fourteen, I walked by a dungeon like brick building were the grunting and bellowing of voices drew my attention. I popped my little head in the door and to my amazement there was a man shorter than me, 5’2”, with enough muscle and veins to make your jaw drop. The man would later become my mentor and friend Norm Wickens. He invited me in to the sweat box and told me I could stay and watch him and his partner Felix train if I promise to be quiet (that’s a paradox considering the noise these two beasts were making). I watched intently and knew that was a calling.
Norm asked me how old I was and I remember it like yesterday and I responded 14. He shook his head in amazement and could not believe I had not worked out before. That is when he told me I could be a Canadian bodybuilder champion one day.
Competitive Background
At the age of sixteen, I competed my first bodybuilding contest were I missed out of the top three. I was the youngest competitor in the Junior category which was under 20. I didn’t compete again until 1990 when I won the Junior Heavyweight Provincials. I found myself standing on stage a month later at the Junior Nationals in Edmonton were I placed second overall in an open Junior class.
Since 1990 to present, I have competed in at least one show a year at the National level in an attempt to qualify for a pro card.
In 2001, I competed in Police and Fire Games where I won 2 first place gold medals. Again in 2005, I duplicated that feat.
My involvement in bodybuilding combined with my job as a police officer has given me a balance in my life. This I find makes pre-contest training easier as I am focused on my job I am focused and regimented on my job there is no time to allow for cravings Each half serves as an outlet for each other. Having another focal point allows me to relieve the stressor of one over the other. Both have contributed to make me the more complete and over all individual that I am today.
MVP Involvement
In 1999, I became MVP’s first sponsored athlete and have been with them since. In my seven years with MVP, I can truly say; I use their products, I believe in their ideologies, I support their advancements and most of all I am proud to be a member of the MVP team. Unlike other companies, this has a family oriented caring environment. The entire team members, along with the MVP staff, have a very good rapport with each other.
MVP team/ MVP staff have always provided me tremendous amounts of support i.e., supplements, track suits, and moral support, over the years and friendships have developed which will be everlasting.
With MVP, I had the opportunity represent them in events they had set up at health and fitness venues and charitable events.

SIGNIFICANT EVENTS:
January 20 2006, a day I will never forget. You ask why? Well on that day as usually I enter the gym and commenced my grueling quad workout. Half hour later I was on my last set of my last exercise which was the leg press. I had already done two previous sets with the same weight which was a bit over 1600 Lbs for 25reps. Half way through my last set I heard a loud SNAP!, which was my right quad tore which also led to the tear of my right ligament. It wasn’t over yet. Due to the amount of weight my left leg now had to hold by itself, you guessed it. My left quad and ligament also tore. I was transported to the hospital where double surgery was performed by Knee orthopedic specialist Dr. Martin. With extensive physiotherapy and now more than ever the MVP products I totally relied on. I was not only able to make a full recovery but actually compete in the 2007 World Police and Fire Games 13 months after the injury in March and won. The bottom line you got to thank God and appreciate all the things you have been blessed with in life. You got to believe in yourself (when everyone around said I would not recovery from that injury) and most importantly thank MVP nutrition for their support since 1999 and throughout that time.
